It’s been a little while since I’ve refreshed the site, but I couldn’t stand to let it go un-updated any longer. Thought I’d give a quick update as to the state of things!
Right now we’re working with Pinsky on their debut full-length album. We’ll probably be ready to share something with the world in a couple weeks. The guys are doing the majority of the recording themselves and I’m constantly blown away by how good the songs sound. We’ve been really fortunate to work with two bands now that share a real DIY mentality to their recordings. In this day and age, it’s just so much more economical than renting out Salad Days Studio and hiring an engineer and a well-known producer. You put yourself in a big hole so early when you do that. I love working with bands that care enough about their sound to learn the skills needed to control the recordings.
A Great Big Pile of Leaves is finishing up their tour with the Appleseed Cast this week too. Those guys are incredible musicians. I can’t wait to hear what they come up with next. Such a unique band.
Charlie is finishing up his last semester of law school – I think he’s got some finals this week. Jon moved out of our apartment and down the street one block (to move in with his girlfriend). In the process, he acquired a cute dog that resembles an old man. I finally found a new roommate last week. So we’ve had a lot of extra things going on lately. I feel like I haven’t seen a show in a long time, which is somewhat upsetting. Currently, I can’t stop listening to the new Mansions and Maritime albums. I highly suggest listening to them. Also, I’m really looking forward to the new Into It. Over It. split with Such Gold.
It’s starting to feel like summer in New York. Best time of the year.
