New Wage, the new EP and third release from DC’s Boardroom Heroes, is a sing-along joyride down I-95 with cut brakes.
Boardroom Heroes formed in Bethesda, MD in 2011 by brothers Andre and Augusto Pagliarini. Growing up in Brazil and California, they found a shared love for skateboarding and 90s punk rock (a la Epitaph and Fat Wreck Chords). After bouncing around a few different bands, they wrote and self-released Boardroom Heroes. The band signed to Sinking Ship Records in 2012 and released Another Year, a sharp and focused album colored with the influences of NOFX, Lagwagon and No Use For A Name. Joined by guitarists Stephen Parsons and Nick Freese, the band became a regular in the burgeoning DC punk scene.
For New Wage, the band headed to Salad Days studio to record with veteran producer Brian McTernan (Hot Water Music, Thrice, the Movielife). The resulting five tracks are defiantly anthemic, polished and aggressively catchy. New Wage is the sound of a band that’s unwilling to adopt every new trend – and the sound of a band that is firing on all cylinders.
